About Me & My Journey

I’m Ellie, 24 years old and live in Sutton Coldfield. The face behind the pastel colours, eyelashes, and lots of glitter.

When I started designing greeting cards two years ago, I never thought I’d be where I am today. As someone convinced my work wasn’t good enough, with much persuasion I decided to take a gamble and get myself a stall at a local venue. With only a few cards dotted around the table. I was really surprised to see all my cards sell out and with lots of compliments too. It was such a humbling experience. One I will never forget. It completely changed my mindset.

A bit of background on my art education

After school I went on to do a two-year art course covering 18 different units. Illustration being one of them. This is where I found my love for illustration and watercolours. However, I’m dyslexic and finding out that 60% of the grade is made up of writing and only the 40% is made up of art. I quickly realised that Uni wouldn't be for me. I walked away with grades I was happy with but for me it was the knowledge and skills I learnt that were more valuable.

Apart from the illustration unit at college that helped me with my first steps onto the illustration ladder, I have taught myself alot of what I know about becoming an Illustrator. Consisting of research, research and more research! I am almost learning daily about this industry and how to keep up. I wouldn’t want it any other way. I love this job; it is my passion. Designing is my happy place. Creating illustrations that put a smile on people’s faces is what I enjoy the most. To me, an injection of positive and happy art is what everyone needs in their life!

Dyslexic Life - Always work with your strengths. Hence why I’m an Illustrator and not a writer!

As a dyslexic. First of all, I apologise for any bad grammar and spelling. Secondly, I’m rubbish at waffling (speaking about myself) but what I can say for sure is how grateful I am to everyone for your support. Anytime I get a like, a follow, a sale. They are all important and mean a lot to me. Thank you for supporting me to do what I love!

If you have any questions about me or the business, you would like to know then please feel free to ask!
